Political Analysts Break Down Election Results
Election Results Surprise the Country
Yesterday’s election made history in many different ways and now, many analysts are breaking down how the vote ended up the way it did.
Surprised, shocked, happy, and sad are just some of the many emotions people are feeling after Donald Trump’s victory yesterday.
Alisa Von Hagel teaches Political Science at University of Wisconsin-Superior and a Trump win was not the result she was expecting with pretty much every major poll showing him behind heading into election day.
Trump ended up winning several key electoral states most experts thought Clinton would take, pushing him over the top.
Von Hagel said, “It defies all that, at this point, we know about electoral politics in this country so I guess surprise is my first reaction.”
Von Hagel believes the top priority for Trump right now will be reaching out to Clinton supporters, to try and bring more unity to the country as he takes office.
She describes the UWS campus as being very quiet today, something she believes is a response to election fatigue.
