Trump’s Agenda for His First 100 Days in Office

Donald Trump shocked the country after voters rallied behind his long-shot campaign and handed him the victory over Democrat Hillary Clinton, making him the 45th president of the United States.

Republicans have also held onto their majority in the House of Representatives and are close to claiming majority in the Senate, giving Trump a friendly Congress with which to pass his legislative agenda.

The following is an overview of his agenda, compiled by Fox News from his campaign website.

Economy:

  • Simplify income tax brackets to four. Cut corporate tax to 15 percent
  • Eliminate the estate tax.
  • Allow working parents to deduct child care from their income taxes.
  • Give six weeks paid leave to new working mothers.

Government Reform:

  • Propose constitutional amendment to impose term limits on all members of Congress.
  • Hiring freeze on all federal employees.
  • Require that for every new federal regulation, two existing regulations must be eliminated.
  • A five-year ban on White House and congressional officials becoming lobbyists.

Health Care:

  • Repeal and replace ObamaCare with Heath Savings Accounts (HSAs).
  • Allow people to purchase insurance across state lines, in all 50 states.
  • Reform the VA to discipline employees who have jeopardized the health, safety, or well-being of veterans.

Trade:

  • Withdraw form the Trans-Pacific Partnership
  • Renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA)
  • Label China a currency manipulator and instruct the US trade representative to bring trade cases against China

Immigration:

  • Build a wall on the southern border and get Mexico to pay for it
  • End catch-and-release, by detaining and removing anyone who illegally crosses the border.
  • Deport all criminal aliens out of the country on day one of Trump administration.
  • End sanctuary cities; end DACA and DAPA; and triple number of ICE agents.

National Security:

  • Repeal defense sequester and boost budget to rebuild military. Increase the Army to 540,000 active-duty soldiers.
  • Invest in a new missile system by modernizing Navy cruisers and growing Navy fleet.
  • Full audit of the Pentagon to eliminate waste and abuse, and collect unpaid taxes.
