Locals React to Presidential Election

People on the Duluth lakewalk discuss their election reaction

Last night’s presidential election result was a surprise to many. FOX 21’s Andrew Kirov got the local reaction to Donald Trump being elected president.

Millions nationwide are reacting to yesterday’s presidential election. In Duluth, several voters said they are surprised about the results.

One man says, “Stunned is the way I would put it.”

Another says, “I’m a little surprised. Not necessarily at the results but at how close it was.”

Some even at a loss for words.

“I’m feeling fairly overwhelmed,” says a Minnesota voter.

And no one knows quite what this means for the future.

“I haven’t a clue what to expect,” says another voter.

Or how the country should move forward. Some say we should focus on being better. One man says, “I think we need to keep working and doing what we do to try to make the world and our country a better place.”

Others are looking forward to change, with one voter saying, “I can’t imagine it getting any worse, let me put it that way. Hopefully things will start turning a little more in the direction that I’d like to see it go.”

Across the nation and in the Northland, people are expressing a wide range of emotions.

“Hopefully it turns out for the best but we’ll see,” says a Minnesota voter.
