Salvation Army Celebrates Christmas Kettle Campaign Kickoff

The kettle campaign raises nearly one-third of the Salvation Army's annual budget.

The Salvation Army began their annual Christmas Kettle campaign at the Bentleyville Tour of Lights.

The Salvation Army raises nearly one-third of their annual budget from the kettle campaign.

The money is used for housing the homeless, for their hot lunch program, and their food shelf. The organization wants to raise nearly $625,000 in the next eight weeks.

“This is kind of a way of letting the community know we need their help. We need volunteers to man those kettles all season long and help us raise our goal,” said Major Bill Cox.

Kettle ringers will be at fifteen stations throughout Duluth. Bentleyville opens on November 19th.
