Grocery Stores Stocked Up On Turkey

SuperOne in Superior expects to sell nearly 1,000 turkeys over the holidays

It’s one of the busiest weeks for grocery stores across the Northland, with turkey being the big seller.

SuperOne in Superior expects to sell nearly 1,000 turkeys over the holidays.

Right now they are offering turkeys for 75 cents per pound with a $25 purchase.

The store tells us they’ve got plenty of turkey to keep up with the high demand.

“As far as how many turkeys we order, we try to go from previous year sales,” said Tim Michalski, store manager at the Superior SuperOne. “That’s our best estimate. We always want to have a little more because we sell them during the Christmas season also.”

SuperOne recommends buying a frozen turkey at least one day in advance to allow it to thaw before cooking.
