6th Street Market Donates Thanksgiving Dinners
More than 50 Turkeys are Donated
Residents of Ashland are reaching out a helping hand for people in need, this Thanksgiving.
For three weeks, customers at the 6th street market have been spending a few extra bucks so that people who can’t afford a thanksgiving dinner, can still have one.
The market buys the turkeys, and has a basket with food items that customers can buy for all the fixings. After each meal has all the ingredients on the list, the whole bundle is dropped off at a church, who will give it to a neighbor that could use some help this holiday season.
“Ashland is many things, and one of the things that I think Ashland is, if there’s someone that needs something, this town and this community is right on it,” said Linda Pearson, Owner of Sixth Street Market.
More than 50 whole thanksgiving dinners were donated. The Christmas food drive at Sixth street market starts December 1st.
