Proctor Man Held On ‘Attempted Homicide’ Charge

Proctor police are investigating what they call an attempted homicide.

Investigators say a 40-year-old man is under arrest.

He’s accused of firing a rifle multiple times in a home one the 100 block of 5th Street.

Authorities believe the shooting happened after the suspect got into an argument with his live-in girlfriend.

Nobody was injured.

Meanwhile, a K9 officer with the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office is credited – in part – to making the arrest of the shooter at Midway Avenue and Brook Street.

That arrest came, according to officials, after the suspect ran from his home.

Formal charges were pending Sunday.
