AAFES Store Closing in Duluth
Minnesota Politicians are Fighting to Reverse the Decision
The Army and Air Force Exchange Service is planning on closing the Duluth location in 2017.
Local Veterans believe it’s a Military benefit that is being taken away, and the store closing will impact area veterans negatively.
Minnesota Politicians like U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken, and U.S. Representative Rick Nolan are urging AAFES to reverse the decision.
If the Duluth AAFES store is closed as planned the closes store that Northland Veterans and military personnel will be able to access is in the Twin Cities, around 165 miles away from Duluth.
