2 Bodies Found Outside Superior Home
Incident happened on December 21, 2016 in the Butler Park are of Superior
UPDATE: After an exam of the scene, preliminary investigation and preliminary autopsy results, Superior Police Department reports that it appears both Shirley Johnson and Richard Ellison, who were found outside of their home in the Butler Park are of Superior on December 21, died due to exposure to the cold.
The Superior Police Department is currently awaiting final autopsy and toxicology reports, but they do not believe that this incident is any more than a tragic incident of two people being locked out of their home and being exposed to the cold for a prolonged period of time.
ORIGINAL REPORT:
The Superior Police Department responded to a call on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, around 10:30 a.m., in the Butler Park area of Superior on the report of two deceased people outside of a residence.
When officers arrived, the two people who live at the residence were located deceased outside.
Detectives and evidence technicians were called to evaluate and process the scene. AT this point it is not believed anyone else was involved.
The Douglas County Medical Examiner’s office was called and has arranged for post-mortem exams to be conducted.
The incident remains under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
