Salvation Army Surpasses Donation Goal

Superior Salvation Army Bings in Almost $63,000 in Red Kettle Campaign

SUPERIOR, Wis. – The Duluth Fire Department aren’t the only ones ready to help those in need this holiday season.

The Superior Salvation Army is too, as they topped their fund–raising goal this year.

The salvation army raised almost $63,000 through their red kettle campaign, shattering their goal of $50,000 for this season.

They think good weather was a factor in their more–than–expected donations, but it also had to do with the spirit of giving.

“People just walking by the red kettle stands and just willing to give, its’ been great, and the community really came together to make this possible,” says Jasen Elcombe, Corps Officer for the Superior Salvation Army.

The Superior Salvation Army says it’s too early to know what next year’s red kettle donation goal will be, but given the success of this year, it may be around $65,000.
