Ice Climbing Festival Draws More Than 100 to Quarry Park

It's Held at the City's Newest Park

DULUTH, Minn.- The Duluth Climbing Coalition’s 2nd Annual Winter Rendezvous brought over 100 people to Casket Quarry in Duluth

Dozens of people tried ice climbing and mixed climbing, a combination of climbing rock and ice, at the Casket Quarry. The walls at Casket Quarry are known for their steepness and technical difficulty, but organizers say climbing is only one of the many activities people can enjoy at the city’s newest park.

“Quarry park is a remarkable place to have literally in the middle of west Duluth here and there are trails that go all around that have views that are just jaw dropping and amazing,” said Lucas Kramer, the President of the Duluth Climbing Coalition.

Activities like Fat tire biking and s’mores were available for people who opted out of climbing.
