Lost Six-Wheeler to the River

VILLAGE OF OLIVER, Wis.-Some good Samaritans rescued an elderly man from the frigid waters of the St. Louis River today.

The event happened about 2:45 p.m. near the Oliver Bridge, after two passerby’s heard a man yelling for help. They then noticed a man in the water hanging on a sheet of ice.

Authorities said the man was driving a six–wheeler on the ice, which broke through.

He was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
