Project Bringing Life to Forgotten “Pocket Park”
The Lincoln Park Business Group is asking for public opinion for the park at 19th Avenue West and Superior Street
DULUTH,Minn. – As the revitalization of Duluth’s Lincoln Park neighborhood continues, a local group is working to bring life to a forgotten park.
Tonight, the Lincoln Park Business Group heard feedback from residents about the “Pocket Park” at 19th Avenue West and Superior Street.
The park sits in the heart of Lincoln Park. Businesses in the area saw this as an opportunity to clean up the neighborhood and make the park a more welcoming environment for people passing through.
“We’re in the middle of this big change of a neighborhood that’s kind of been forgotten and now it’s being found again,” said Charlie Deville, president of the Lincoln Park Business Group. “I think this is going to be a really good addition to what’s going on right now.”
The group also wants to work with local artists to make the park a unique space.
There will be another neighborhood input session this Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ecolibrium3 in Duluth.
Work is expected to begin on the park this summer.
