Skiers Say Goodbye to Powder Season at Mont Du Lac
SUPERIOR, Wis.- Skiers and Snowboarders said goodbye to winter at the Annual Melt Du Lac Spring Fling.
Though Mont Du Lac will still be open for another week or so, Mont Du Lac pass holders celebrated the spring with fun activities like a rail jam, face painting, and a barbecue.
“We do it for the pass holders and everyone who wants to enjoy normally spring skiing when it’s about 40 degrees, but this year it seems to be flip flopped a little bit, but we’re still having a good time,” said Mike Ohara, the manager of Mont Du Lac.
The annual event was held a little earlier than previous years. Organziers say it was to insure that they could have a party at all.
“Last year we weren’t able to pull it off at all due to the extremely warm temperature, but this year we wanted to make sure we got it in for everybody who wanted to come out and have fun,” said Ohara.
Mont Du Lac is scheduled to be open until next weekend, depending on the weather, but may have reduced hours during the week.
