Two Bobcats Saved From Being Put Down
Help Name Them

SANDSTONE, Minn.-Two bobcats have a second chance at life at the Wildcat Sanctuary in Sandstone.
One of the bobcats was burned severely in a barn fire in Iowa when he was a few weeks old, causing him to have eye issues including light sensitivity. Now two-years-old, he cannot be released back into the wild.
The sanctuary also received another bobcat recently, which was raised by a family on the other side of the country. He was going to be put down, but the sanctuary took him in.
“Our dedicated team sprang into action and drove over 2,000 miles in two days to pick-up the second bobcat and bring him to the sanctuary,”Sanctuary Director Tammy Thies said in a prepared statement. “Saving lives. It’s what we do.”
Both bobcats will undergo exams in the coming weeks, and will be introduced to one another through several play dates.
The public is being invited to name the two cats at www.wildcatsanctuary.org, through March 17
Donations for the care of the animals at the sanctuary, will be matched up to $50,000, through a campaign known as Miracle Match.
