A Musical Fundraiser for Mentor Duluth
Organization Connects Mentors to Children Who Need Them
DULUTH, Minn. – Mentor Duluth celebrated one of the group’s biggest nights of the year Friday evening.
It was Mentor Duluth’s March into Mentoring fundraiser. Everyone on hand was treated to live music.
March is the program’s biggest fundraising month and Mentor Duluth is close to the goal of 31 new mentors recruited in March.
Organizers say mentoring youth is important for a healthy community.
“Whether it’s taking them to Canal Park, and walking around on the Lakewalk, or going to sports games, or helping with homework,” said Josh Nonnemacher with Mentor Duluth. “Mentors being involved in the community make an impact and affect future generations.”
So far 27 new mentors are on board. At Friday’s event organizers hoped to beat last year’s $8,000 raised.
