Saginaw Fire Destroys Building

Multiple Agencies Responded to the Scene

SAGINAW, Minn.-Local fire departments in Saginaw responded to a structure fire in an outbuilding at the 4900 block of Highway 33.

The building was fully engulfed when crews arrived. The fire was contained, but the $60,000 structure was a total loss.

“The homeowner reportedly went inside the detached home after doing furniture work with a metal grinder,” said the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office in a prepared release. “It is believed that a hot ember from the grinder ignited the fire. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.”

The Brevator, Grand Lake, Solway, and Cloquet fire departments all responded to the scene, along with the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office.
