Hotel Development Project in Works in Ashland
Cobblestone Hotels looks to build new hotel in downtown Ashland
Ashland, Wis.
Growing excitement in Ashland, Wisconsin. A new multi-million dollar development is planned for the city’s downtown, in the form of a new hotel. The city council has voted to move forward with the proposed four-story hotel project. The 51 unit hotel is set to be build on the west end of downtown Ashland, adjacent to Deepwater Grille and South Shore Brewing building.
“It’s going to bring more people into our downtown,” said planning and development director, Apri lKroner. “It’s going to get more foot traffic here for our retails and our restaurants in this location.”
“Chapple and Main is kind of a hot corner anyway, and this will only add to that,” said Ashland city councilor Joel Langholz.”Hopefully increase business for everyone here. I think that’s the goal, or the hope.”
Cobblestone Hotels, out of Neenah, Wisc., is the developer behind the six million dollar project. the hotel is expected to open in early 2018.
