Update in Murder of UMD Student

All Suspects in Court Today

DULUTH, Minn.-All five suspects in the February murder of UMD student William Grahek were in court today.

Deandre Davenport, 21, was charged earlier this month as the sole person who shot Grahek twice in a robbery attempt. Noah Baker, 19, and 18–year–old Noah King, both were charged with attempted robbery and second-degree murder in relation to the case.

Baker was recently facing a probation violation, which was related to some previous theft cases.

Tara  Baker, 22, is accused of aiding the offenders and being the driver of the get-away vehicle in the case. Xavier Haywood, 26, was also charged with aiding the offenders and tipping off everybody that drugs and large amounts of money were inside Grahek’s house – the motive of the crime.

Haywood was also in court today for charges related to a recent fighting incident.

All will be back in court June 30 for more hearings related to Grahek’s murder.
