Sands Shifts Focus to New Opponent
Boxer to Face Brian Howard in Hinckley for NABA Crown
DULUTH, Minn. – So much for Germany.
‘The Haitian Temptation’ Al Sands and his team couldn’t get a deal done for a rescheudled fight with Roman Glovashenko for the International Boxing Organization Inter-Continental Cruiserwieght title.
Instead, Sands (19–2, 17 KO) fights Brian Howard (12–1, 9 KO) April 21st for the North American Boxing Association Cruiserweight title at Grand Casino Hinckley.
Both fighters come in ranked in the top six among American cruiserweights.
And while the NABA title is more prestigious than the one was supposed to fight for, Sands can’t help but feel disrespected.
“The way that they’ve ghosted us the last couple weeks, I have the utmost respect for the IBO, and I really wish that fight could have happened the way that we planned,” said Sands. “Brian Howard is going to be the one to pay for it April 21st.”
Sands will be selling tickets for the fight on his website.
