Michigan Street Utilities Upgrade Scheduled
Work to begin May 1
DULUTH, Minn. – The City of Duluth Public Works and Utilities is partnering with Minnesota Power to conduct utility work along Michigan Street, set to begin on Monday, May 1.
The project will include replacing electrical ducts, gas infrastructure, and water mains on a section of West Michigan Street in downtown Duluth between 1st and 3rd Avenues.

- Streets will remain open, but no parking will go into effect immediately as staging for work begins

- Between 2nd and 1st Avenues W, several parking spots will be reserved for construction materials
May 1, will be the official closure of Michigan Street. Duluth Transit Authority services will be temporarily moved up to Superior Street. Access to US Bank will be available from 1st Ave W, and the DTA Parking Ramp will be available from 3rd Ave W.
For residents with questions about this project, the City will be hosting a meeting on Thursday, April 27 at 8 a.m. in City Hall, Room 303.
