New Virginia Co-Op Open for Business

New Building More than Doubles the Store's Size

VIRGINIA, Minn. – It’s an exciting time  for the Natural Harvest Food Co–Op.

The Co-Op opened its brand new, location a week ago, and response has been overwhelming.

The new 9,000 square foot store on 4th Street is a much bigger building than the Co–Op’s old location.  According to the store’s marketing manager, the number of shoppers is at an all–time high.

“It’s been very exciting, we’ve had more people than ever come through our doors,” said Briana Sterle, Marketing and Member Service Manager.  “We’ve had over 500 people every day, on a good day before we had just over 300.  So we’ve had a lot of new faces.”

The new co–op features an expanded freezer section, as well as a deli with salad and hot bars.  Plus, there’s more choices on the shelves than ever before.  In fact, there are so many choices some shoppers find it a little overwhelming.

“The new building is awesome,” said Penny Erchul.  “I generally come to the Co–Op for lunch to get healthy food options, and there’s a lot more selections here.  I’m having a hard time deciding today.”

The new Co–Op is open seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and features an expanded classroom area.
