Superior Police Discuss Results of Community Survey
SUPERIOR, Wis. —
The Superior Police Department has given a new voice to the citizens they are sworn to protect and serve.
They announced the results of a community survey at a press conference earlier today.
Survey participants were given an 86-item questionnaire about their preferences and perceptions about the Superior Police.
The survey, the first of its kind for law enforcement in the Superior community, questioned around 500 residents.
Officers say the results of the survey will influence decisions about the future of the department.
“One of the probably most common recurring themes was increased presence in the community, issues surrounding diversity and cultural awareness, and dealing with the drug epidemic,” said Superior Police Chief Nick Alexander.
The study was made possible with more than 400 hours of work collecting and analyzing data from a group of students and faculty at UW-Superior.
