Superior Common Council to Hold Special Election for 6th District Seat

SUPERIOR, Wis – The City of Superior Common Council has announced it will be holding a Special Election on April 3, 2018 to fill the vacant 6th District Aldermanic position, formerly held by Graham Garfield who stepped down earlier this month.
Until the Special Election, the Council is seeking applicants to fill the position for a one-year term.
Qualified applicants must reside in the 6th District of Superior, be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years of age, and not disqualified from voting under Wis. Stat 6.03.
Applicants must submit Nomination Papers with at least 20 signatures of qualified electors in the 6th District, along with a Letter of Interest to the City Clerk’s office by Wednesday May 31 at 4 p.m. Nomination papers are available at the City Clerk’s Office or online.
Those who apply will be invited to attend the June 6 Council meeting and have the opportunity to address the council for no more than five minutes.
