Fallen Law Enforcement Officers Honored at Luncheon
It's National Police Week
DULUTH, Minn.- The 28th annual Law Enforcement Memorial Prayer and Luncheon was held in Duluth.
A room full or law enforcement officers, families and supporters honored police officers who had given the ultimate sacrifice and lost their lives in the line of duty, with talks and prayers. Nationwide, 143 officers died while serving their communities. It was a 16 percent increase from the year before.
“Just remembering, coming together as a brotherhood of law enforcement to know that they can support each other, and the community supports them,” said John Petrich, the Duluth Police Chaplain.
“This is just a small token a reminder that our broader communities really do support us, and it’s really nice to support those people that everyday make significant sacrifices and put themselves in harms way to protect our communities,” said Mike Tusken, the Police Chief for the Duluth Police Department.
This event was held as part of National Police Week.
