Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center Looking to Break World Record
They're Working on Breaking the World Record for Number of People Wearing Life Jackets in One Photo
DULUTH, Minn.- The Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center is calling for the help of the public to break a world record tomorrow.
The World Record for the number of people wearing life jackets in one photo is almost 11,000. Tomorrow the Maritime visitor center is hoping to break that record. They’re inviting people to come to the visitor center in Canal Park with their life jackets to be in the photo. It’s all to encourage people to wear life jackets while boating, as part of a kick off for boating safety week that starts Saturday.
“A lot of accidents can happen while boating. A lot of them, people never really expect to fall in the water or anything or have an accident while boating, so life jackets will play a big part in saving your life if something happens,” said Sara Summers-Luedtke, a Park Ranger at the Maritime Visitor Center.
If you don’t have a life jacket the visitor center will have one for you.
