Retired Denfeld Teacher Announces Run For Duluth School Board
DULUTH, Minn. (Press Release) – A retired teacher of the Duluth School District, Jill Lofald, has announced she is running for the School Board Dist. 4 seat and will run against current board member Art Johnston.

*Retired Denfeld Teacher – English-Speech-Theater.
* Speech and Debate Coach for Denfeld and East students. We have been a combined team for ten years and travel and compete as the Duluth Speech and Debate team. Extra-curricular activity that is providing this opportunity for students in this district. I have been a speech coach for 40 years and a debate coach for 8.
*Parent with 2 children that attended our western district public schools and graduated from Denfeld. They both currently live in our western communities.
*Deep roots in our community. Over 50 years of living, working, worshipping, and supporting our neighborhood businesses.
*Strong knowledge and passion for education, students and families.
I’m proud of my commitment to the Duluth Public Schools. I have seen firsthand the excellent education our schools provide. I also know of the challenges we face, especially in the Western District. I believe my communication skills, professional experiences and my passion for education will guide my decision-making process. Listening to my community will help me focus on what is best for students and citizens. I look forward to the work and challenges that being on the school board will bring but I also know the rewards it can bring. Witnessing students who are succeeding and leading productive lives because of the educational opportunities presented to them inspires me to seek this position. I will be a STRONG, PASSIONATE AND EFFECTIVE VOICE for School Board District 4.
