One Dead After Crash on Highway 13 North of Bayfield

BAYFIELD, Wis. – A woman has died after a crash on State Highway 13, just north of Bayfield, Wisconsin.

The Bayfield County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call of the accident around 11 a.m. Monday. A pickup truck heading south on State Highway 13 collided head-on with a car headed north.

Evidence at the crash scene, as reported by the Bayfield County Sheriff’s Office, shows the southbound pickup truck moved into the northbound lane of traffic and collided with the northbound car.

The male driver of the pickup, identified as 58-year-old, Daniel Harvey, of Washburn, was transported by ambulance to Memorial Medical Center in Ashland with non-life threatening injuries, his male passenger was not injured.

The female driver of the northbound car had to be extricated from her vehicle, she was then transported to Memorial Medical Center where she would succumb to her injuries. She has been identified by authorities as 72-year-old, Linda Brown, of Bayfield.

This crash remains under investigation. Names are being withheld until family notification and preliminary investigation is complete.
