Duluth Public School Dist. Celebrates Retirees’ Careers

DULUTH, Minn. – Sixty employees of the Duluth Public Schools celebrated their retirements together on Thursday. From teachers to maintenance workers, to office staff, they all had the chance to honor each others careers at a reception at East High School.

“I really like working with students,” retiring special education teacher Al Chepelnik said. “I liked helping them find jobs in the community, monitor them on the job sites, and work with employers as well. It’s been a fun job. You help people grow and get ready for life.”

The reception featured music from the  East High School Jazz Band.
