New Publication Highlights Community Connections
Magazine Insert Links Duluth and Iron Range
DULUTH, Minn. – The Iron Range and Duluth are connected by more than geography, and officials are proud to showcase those connections.
A new magazine insert published by the Iron Range Resources & Rehabilitation Board and other partners showcases the entire region, from the Range to Duluth.
IRRRB Commissioner Mark Phillips says the connection between the communities affects everyone even if they don’t realize it.
“It’s always been so important and sometimes people take it for granted,” said Phillips. “It’s the shipping, the technology, the university, NRRI up on the hill. There are so many connections between Duluth and the Iron Range.”
Organizers chose the Glensheen Mansion for Thursday’s unveiling because they believe Charles Congdon represents the connection between the communities.
Duluth Mayor Emily Larson says the magazine will give people a better understanding of the region.
“I think this publication highlights a lot of things people won’t know about,” said Larson. “I think there’s tremendous potential in reuniting the opportunities we have together and I’m excited about that.”
The insert will be added to the Twin Cities Business Magazine as well as this Sunday’s Duluth News Tribune.
