National Donut Day with Johnson’s Bakery
Happy National Donut Day!
Each year on the first Friday in June, people participate in Donut Day, honoring the Salvation Army women who served donuts to soldiers during WWI.
In 1917, the original Salvation Army doughnut was first served. Home cooked foods provided by brave volunteers proved to be a morale booster for troops serving overseas.
Johnson’s Bakery joined us in the studio today to chat about the day and just how the business is celebrating.
