Trees Are Planted in Superior to Honor People

It's Part of the City's Tribute Tree Program

SUPERIOR, Wis.- The City of Superior planted trees to honor community members. It’s part of the City’s Tribute Tree program.

People can buy a tree that will be planted in honor of something or someone. The tree is then planted by the city’s tree crew on the boulevard, or the neighborhood of the donor’s choice. Today some of the trees planted at Webster Park in Superior as part of the program, were dedicated.

“Trees really bring a great value and beauty to the community, and it’s a living memory, you can see it grow and blossom over the years, so it’s a good way to memorize, or to give memory to someone,” said Linda Cadotte, the Parks and Forestry Director for the City of Superior.

The tributes included honoring the life of a community member Edwin Johnson, celebrating the birthday of Arlene Johnson, and Bethel Lutheran Church’s building that once stood where the park is now.
