Austin Jarrow Honored by Grandma’s Marathon
DULUTH, Minn. —
A running store in Duluth is being recognized for their commitment to the sport and contributions to Grandma’s Marathon.
“The lake, the people, it’s really well run by the management and the race directors,” says Jarrow Wahman, co-owner of Austin Jarrow, the oldest running store in the city. “They’re great people. So it’s just a great experience altogether.”
Austin Jarrow’s owners have been sponsors of the marathon for more than two decades.
This year the store is receiving the Ron Daws Ambassador Award for their commitment to the Duluth running community.
“We’ve always wanted to be associated with the premier event in Duluth,” Wahman said. “We want to think of ourselves as, like, the premier running store. So we like to be involved.”
Austin Jarrow first opened its doors way back in 1984.
