Summer Programs Begin at Heritage Center

DULUTH, Minn.-Beginning today, kids in Duluth got the chance to build some character all while playing some fun indoor activities.

The “Champions Building Champions” kicked off at the Heritage Sports Center and will run every Wednesday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. through Aug. 24.

The program is the brainchild of Men As Peacemakers, who want more young people to serve as good role models in the community.

“We’re really focusing on building a safe and equitable environment which includes everybody and just teaching them good positive values and having a good time,” said Kevin Franz, of Men as Peacemakers.

The program is available for those ages 7-17.

There will also be an open skate from 2-4 p.m. every Wednesday at the Heritage through the end of August.
