Projectile Hits Vehicles in Hermantown, Police Confirm Bullets

UPDATE 6/26 – The Hermantown Police Department has confirmed that the projectiles used in this incident were bullets.
Bullet fragments were retrieved from three separate vehicles, according tot he Hermantown Police Department. The caliber or type of firearm used remains under investigation.
Police believe that this was a random act, and states that no other incidents have been reported at this time.
Authorities are looking for the driver of a dark colored SUV or mini-van that was seen in the area during the incident. Those with information are encouraged to call the Hermantown PD at 218-729-1200.

HERMANTOWN, Minn. – At about 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, Hermantown police responded to a scene on the 3900 block of Midway Road where three vehicles were struck by a projectile.
No one was injured in the incident. They told Fox 21 they don’t know what projectile was.
Officers are speaking with members of the community there about what happened as they continue to investigate.
