Duluth Fourth Fest Traffic Advisories

DULUTH, Minn. – The City of Duluth will be hosting the Annual Fourth Fest Celebration in the Bayfront Area on Tuesday and the Duluth Police Department have issued the following traffic advisories for travelers in the area.

PARKING:

  • Limited parking will be available at the DECC parking ramp, Great Lakes Aquarium Lot, and in parking lots along Railroad Street west of 5th Avenue West
  • During the late afternoon, it is advised to park in the downtown area and walk to Bayfront, as traffic increases later in the day

CLOSURES:

  • Harbor driver behind the DECC will be closed to traffic beginning around 6 p.m. to accommodate pedestrians
  • Just prior to the fireworks display, 5th Avenue West will be closed to down bound vehicle traffic.

BRIDGES:

  • The Aerial Lift Bridge will remain down from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • The Minnesota Slip Bridge will remain down from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Fireworks begin at 10:10 p.m. and last for approximately 20-25 minutes.

POST FIREWORKS:

  • Vehicles in the Canal Park and Park Point areas should expect long delays
  • Access to Canal Park and Park Point will be RESTRICTED for approximately an hour, until traffic is alleviated. Those needed to get to the area are advised to return BEFORE 10 p.m.
  • DPD will be providing traffic control at the end of the show to facilitate vehicles and pedestrians – motorists will follow directions from officers. The DPD warns that drivers who are caught going around police barricades will be cited.

A reminder that pets are NOT allowed in Bayfront during 4th Fest.
