Knowing Your Neighbors: Fine Edge Custom Framing
Virginia Business Can Add a Special Frame to Any Piece
VIRGINIA, Minn. – A custom frame can add a special finishing touch to any display in your home. In this week’s Knowing Your Neighbors, we take you to Fine Edge Custom Framing in Virginia, where they specialize in giving an edge to your favorite piece.
“We do custom framing of all types of artwork, collectibles, jerseys, clothing, anything that you can put in a frame,” says Gayle Streier, owner of Fine Edge.
Fine Edge has been framing the Iron Range for the last ten years.
“I think it offers people an opportunity to make something beautiful for their home, things they keep as an heirloom,” says Streier.
The two owners get to know each customer, learning how to specially frame everyone’s item.
“Because it is such a personal thing, what people choose to preserve, I think that’s one of the things I really like about it is getting to know the customers and learning about their stories,” says Streier. ”

Every project they work on is an opportunity to discover something new.
“I saw some amazing original illustrations from a Hollywood scenic designer and they were original drawings for a film that won an Oscar for scenic design probably back in the 30s,” says Streier.
Their frames can enhance anything that might be a little rough around the edges.
“You can really make something that’s kind of small and ordinary look pretty fantastic.”
And Fine Edge gives Iron Rangers the chance to customize their prized possessions without driving hundreds of miles away, making them a great neighbor to know.
“I’ve framed a braid from a horse’s tale, I’ve framed jewelry,” says Streier. “Just you name it and people bring it in.”
“The main thing is to get it on the wall and make happy customers.”
Fine Edge Custom Framing is located at Fourth Avenue West in Virginia. The owners encourage anyone to come in, check out their work, and get a quote for framing their own special item.
