Church Closes in Cloquet
Many Members of the Church Have Found New Homes
CLOQUET, Minn.-St. Andrews Episcopal Church has closed its doors in Cloquet.
A lack of members going to the church led to the closure – it had been open for nearly a century.
Church leaders told us today that it’s sad to see the church close its doors, and they will have a hard time letting go of all the memories they have there.
“Certainly I have mixed emotions with how this is going to be,” said Rev. Joseph Piette. “Luckily I’ll have somewhere to go next Sunday. I think if I get to hold onto the key for another week or so, I may come back and sit here a while.”
The church will be sold by the Episcopal Diocese.
The priest there, said many of the current members have found new churches to go to.
