Superior Students Learn About Fire Fighting

Fire Department Will be Visiting Multiple Schools Next Week

SUPERIOR, Wis.-Some lucky kids in Superior today got a chance to learn all about how to fight fire.

Superior fire fighters visited students at Great Lakes Elementary as part of “Fire Prevention Week.”

This year’s theme is “Every Second Counts, Plan Two Ways Out.” The kids took part in a variety of activities including going into a “Burn House” to learn about kitchen safety.

“Fire safety goes on forever, like I’m telling the kids today it’s whatever age they’re at now and it goes until the end,” said David Johnson, a Superior Fire Department captain. “It doesn’t change for anybody. You got to be careful out there.”

The fire department will be visiting a variety of elementary schools over the next few weeks.
