Grand Rapids Woman Sentenced to 30.5 Years in Beheading Case

GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. – Itasca County Attorney, John Muhar, reports that one of the two involved in the murder of David Haiman in June 2016, was sentenced Monday, in Itasca County District Court.

Kayleene Danielle Greniger, 23, of Grand Rapids, was sentenced to 367 months, or 30.5 years, in prison. On Feb. 24, 2017, Greniger pleaded guilty to one count of second degree murder for her involvement in the death of David Haiman, 20, of Hibbing.

Her accomplice, Joseph Christen Thoresen, 36, of Grand Rapids, was convicted of tow counts of first degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison.

Along with Greniger’s sentence, the court ordered Greniger pay $6,088.70 restitution, a $125 fine, and submit a DNA sample.
