UMD Entrepreneurship Conference Held Today
UMD Students Meet With Business Leaders to Talk About Future Entrepreneurship Ideas
DULUTH, Minn.-Starting a business can be quite stressful for anyone. Today, some of that stress was relieved for younger entrepreneurs as they got to meet with a variety of local business leaders.
It was all part of the third annual UMD Entrepreneurship Conference.
The conference offered a platform where students got to understand what it all takes to start and a grow a business.
Event organizers told us today that it could give the students a leg up on the competition as they got to meet their future mentors.
“I believe having a mentor – someone to network with that has experience in the real world is the best possible way to get experience and knowledge” said Andrew Acther, an event organizer.
In the near future, some of the student-entrepreneurs at the conference will be able to pitch their ideas to local business leaders in a Shark Tank-inspired competition.
The top three winners will get a cash prize.
