Another Mistrial in Humphreys Murder Case
Humphreys Will Head to Trial Again on July 17th

DULUTH, Minn. – On Tuesday Judge David Johnson declared yet another mistrial in the Aaron Humphreys murder case.
Humphreys, 44, has been on trial twice in the past year for the death of 47-year-old Eric Wayne Burns who was shot outside of Duluth’s Bedrock Bar in October of 2016.
The first mistrial took place in January due to the untimely notice of an “alternative perpetrator” by the defense.
Tuesday’s mistrial was the result of the dismissal of four jurors.
During opening arguments a juror disclosed to the bailiff that he believes he had contact in recent months with the described “alternative perpetrator” which lead to his dismissal.
It was later revealed that three other jurors had overheard the conversation between the bailiff and the juror and they were also dismissed.
Humphreys is facing a second-degree murder charge.
A third trial date has been scheduled for July 17th.
