Man Charged With Allegedly Biting off Other Man’s Finger and Assaulting a Female

He is Being Held on $200,00 Bail

COOK COUNTY, Minn. – A Northfield man is being charged with first degree assault for strangulation and jaw pulling as well as fourth degree assault on a Peace Officer.

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Rainbow Gathering being held in the Superior National Forest off of Trout Lake Road over the weekend for reports of a man physically assaulting a 40-year-old female and biting off part of a male’s finger while under the influence of LSA, LSD, and ‘Morning Glory Seeds.’

Authorities say Spencer Fredrickson, 20, grabbed a female victim by the throat and attempted to strangle her as well as pull her jaw apart by force after refusing unwanted advances by him.

The victim screamed for help prompting a group to try and assist her by pulling Fredrickson off of her saying that he exhibited ‘super human strength.’

The group was able to finally restrain Fredrickson with Duct Tape, but in the group struggle Fredrickson bit off part of a finger of a male victim.

The assault victims were treated and released from the North Shore Health Hospital in Grand Marais.

Frederickson is being held on $200,000 bail in the Cook County Jail and is being charged in court Tuesday.
