UMD Students Encouraged to Get Active On Campus at Civic Engagement Fair

DULUTH, Minn. – For students at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) who want to get involved in different organizations but don’t know where to begin, the Civic Engagement Fair helps guide them.
The fair was hosted by the Minnesota Public Interest Research Group, an organization focused on engaging students in the community.
Some UMD students believe getting involved in different organizations can enhance the overall experience on campus.
“Campus feels like its own community and then getting involved in the Duluth community is feels completely different,” said Student Stine Myrah. “So, it’s very important to have those opportunities so students can get off campus and really make an impact in Duluth and not just UMD.”
Organizations like the Office of Sustainability and the Homeless Person’s Bill of Rights were among those at the fair.
