Man Injured in Itasca County Officer Involved Shooting

The Minnesota BCA is Investigating

ITASCA COUNTY, Minn. – A male subject involved in an alleged domestic assault complaint sustained injuries after exchanging gun fire with an Itasca Sheriff Deputy on Sunday evening.

According to the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a domestic assault call on Sunday at approximately 5:26 p.m.

Officers responded to a home on Walker Road near Hill City and attempted to make contact.

At one point the male subject fired his weapon prompting deputies to fire their weapons.

The male subject sustained injuries and is being treated at St. Mary’s in Duluth.

The BCA is investigating the officer involved shooting and will provide additional information about the shooting incident once initial interviews are completed.
