Valentine’s Day Proves that Love Has No Age
Relationship advice with Jim and Kay Fredrickson.
SUPERIOR, Wis.- Valentine’s Day is proof that love has no age.
Meet Jim and Kay Fredrickson.
“We’ve been married now for… 13 years,” Jim said.
They met when Kay was working for Jim at a Duluth insurance company. Kay is 74, Jim… 81. This is both their second marriage.
“I was divorced and he called me up and we just kind of got together from there,” Kay said.
Every so often, the couple joins their friends for a meal at UW–Superior, a part of the Senior Connections Center. This year it’s how they wanted to celebrate Valentines.
“It’s 13 years now and she hasn’t found anything that I do wrong yet,” Jim said.
The Frederickson’s say the key to a happy relationship is letting go of the bad stuff.
“You have to be kind to one another, that’s the most important thing,” Kay said.
Fox 21 asked Jim and Kay what they think of modern dating and apps like the popular dating site Tinder. The Fredrickson’s didn’t know what Tinder was.
“I think it’s a good way to get to know one another… You get to look at them and kind of see what their interests are,” Kay said.
The Fredrickson’s are proof, you can teach an old dog new tricks.
