Homegrown Music Festival Will Once Again Highlight Local Talent
Nearly 200 musical acts will perform during the festival.
DULUTH, Minn. – For 21st year in a row, the Homegrown Music Festival will once again highlight local talent from around the Northland
Lasting for a total of eight days, nearly 200 musical acts will perform during the festival.
About 40 venues will also take part by hosting different events each night including the Homegrown Poetry Showcase.
Opening day is coming up very soon and the organizers say the community is ready to celebrate….
“It’s a community feel, it’s a big party. Everyone is itching to get out there. It is usually the precursor for summer in Duluth. People are ready to get out there and enjoy themselves,” said Executive Director Melissa La Tour.
Growing from a small event to now one of biggest highlights of the year, owner of Hoops Brewing has been a part of the festival since the beginning.
He is impressed how much the festival has grown.
“Homegrown it is a statewide thing now. People come up here especially for it. I’m not going to go so far as to say South by Southwest, but its our version maybe,” said Dave Hoops.
The Homegrown Field guide is out now with a list full list of musical acts and participating venues.
Homegrown begins on April 28 and lasts through May 5th.
