Chisholm Man Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in Hibbing Crash

Both Drivers Were Wearing Their Seatbelts

HIBBING, Minn. – A Chisholm man suffered life threatening injuries in a Thursday morning crash on Highway 169 in Hibbing.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Ford Escape driving on E 31 Street was crossing Highway 169 when it was hit on the passenger side by a Ford Taurus travelling south on Highway 169.

The 71-year-old male driving the Ford Taurus was taken to Fairview Hibbing for his injuries which were listed as life-threatening.

The 85-year-old female driving the Ford Escape was also taken to Fairview Hibbing, but did not suffer any life-threatening injuries.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Authorities say alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

The conditions of the drivers are unknown at this time.
