PROCTOR, Minn. – Equity and diversity took center stage today during a unique conference in Proctor.
The program was aimed at teaching staff at Proctor schools more about how to work with a diverse student population, including the impact poverty can have on students.
“Understanding how our experience affects our perceptions and then being open to others, so when we’re in the classroom and when we’re in community meetings, we can start to truly hear each other and make sure everyone has a voice,” said Jodi Pfarr, the speaker at Staff Development Day.
Around 200 people came to the presentation, including teachers, para-professionals, cooks and bus drivers.
