MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – After getting shut out last night for the first time all season and suffering their first loss of 2020, the No. 9 Minnesota Duluth women’s hockey team bounced back in a huge way, taking down No. 2 Minnesota 2-0 in Minneapolis.

Maddie Rooney finished with 35 saves as the Gophers were shut out for just the second time all season, with the first coming just last week at the hands of No. 1 Wisconsin. Gabbie Hughes and Sydney Brodt scored the other goals for the Bulldogs.

UMD (13-9-4, 8-7-3 WCHA) will return home next weekend to host No. 5 Ohio State. The Bulldogs lost to and tied with the Buckeyes earlier in the season. Puck drop on both Friday and Saturday is set for 3:07 p.m.
